Barb Hall, Certified Piano Technician

Pitch Raising

Pitch raising is sometimes required during a tuning if a piano hasn't been tuned for a long time, or is beginning to show signs of not holding a tuning very well. A technician must hear the piano to see how far below "pitch" the piano is. It is basically a "rough" tuning on a piano, and is always done prior to and in conjunction with a tuning.
